A professional epoxy floor starts long before the coating is poured. Successful installation depends on evaluating the concrete, preparing the surface, identifying moisture risks, repairing defects, mixing materials correctly and applying each layer under suitable conditions.
At Peel Epoxy, students learn the process from the concrete substrate to the finished protective topcoat. You will learn not only what steps to follow, but also why epoxy floors fail and how those failures can be prevented.
The training manual is structured as both a classroom curriculum and a field reference, covering preparation, moisture, application procedures and quality control.

Prepare and coat concrete, broadcast decorative flakes, remove loose material and protect the system with a durable topcoat. Covers full and partial broadcasts, basecoat application, scraping, grout coating and quality control.
Learn how quartz aggregate is installed to create durable, seamless and slip-resistant flooring, including single- and double-broadcast systems, texture control, cove bases and troubleshooting.
Learn how metallic pigments, base colours and application techniques create decorative flooring, including pattern movement, multi-colour effects, veining and topcoat selection.
Develop practical experience creating decorative epoxy finishes for countertop surfaces, including colour selection, decorative effects, edge application and finishing techniques.
Many epoxy failures are caused before the first decorative layer is installed. Improper preparation, hidden moisture, oil contamination, weak concrete, inaccurate mixing and unsuitable environmental conditions lead to preventable problems.
Peel Epoxy teaches students how to recognize these risks before they become expensive jobsite failures. The training manual explains that the concrete slab is the foundation of every epoxy system, and that the coating cannot compensate for a poorly understood substrate.
Seven core topics, taught as both classroom curriculum and field reference.
Learn how to inspect concrete and identify problems before they become coating failures.
Preparation methods and target Concrete Surface Profiles change depending on the system being installed.
Moisture is a primary cause of epoxy system failure, and moisture pressure can create blistering beneath a coating.
Incorrect mixing ratios can cause incomplete curing, soft areas and complete system failure.
Build the technical foundation required before applying a coating.
Work through professional broadcast-system procedures.
Develop decorative application skills and learn how to evaluate completed work.
The order of practical activities may change depending on product cure times and training conditions.
The course is designed around active participation. You will be able to ask questions throughout and understand the purpose behind each step.

Epoxy flooring involves chemical products, concrete dust, power equipment and time-sensitive materials. The manual's WHMIS section requires workers to review labels and Safety Data Sheets, use appropriate PPE and follow safe handling procedures.
Your first projects may present conditions that are different from those you experienced during training. Our goal is to help graduates make informed decisions and avoid preventable installation mistakes.
